Data Retention and Deletion

We only keep personal information for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, unless a longer retention period is required by law, professional obligations, accounting requirements, security, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution.

For iHypnosis mobile applications, some information may be stored locally on the user’s device. Locally stored information is normally deleted when the user clears the app data or uninstalls the app, unless the information has also been submitted to us through a form, account, support request, booking system, email, or other online service.

Where personal information is stored by us, we apply the following general retention periods:

  • App support enquiries, contact forms, and email correspondence: normally retained for up to 24 months after the last contact, unless needed for legal, professional, or business records.
  • Account-related information, where an app or service account exists: retained while the account is active and deleted or anonymised after an account deletion request, unless retention is legally required.
  • Booking, payment, invoice, or transaction records: retained for the period required for tax, accounting, legal, or regulatory purposes.
  • Technical logs, security logs, and diagnostic information: normally retained only for as long as needed to maintain security, investigate errors, prevent abuse, or improve the service.
  • Anonymous or aggregated information that no longer identifies a user may be retained for research, statistical, service improvement, or reporting purposes.

Users may request deletion of their personal information at any time by contacting us at:

info@ihypnosis.org.uk

Please include the name of the app or service used, the email address or account identifier associated with the request, and a clear statement that you want your data deleted.

After receiving a valid deletion request, we will delete or anonymise the relevant personal information within a reasonable period, normally within 30 days, unless we are required or permitted to keep certain information for legal, professional, security, accounting, or dispute-resolution reasons.

If an app allows users to create an account, users may request deletion of the account and associated app data through the app where this feature is available, or by contacting us using the privacy contact details above. Deleting the app from a device does not automatically delete any information that has already been submitted to us or stored in an online account.

If we have shared personal information with service providers who process data on our behalf, we will take reasonable steps to ask those providers to delete or anonymise the relevant information, unless continued retention is legally required.
